Presently the operating system of my desktop is Windows XP Service pack 2 Japanese version. I am planning to upgrade in the very near future but using my present operating system drives me nuts. Would it help if I remove the Microsoft.Net Framework 1.1 and 2.0 Japanese Language Pack to do the trick?How could I change the default language of my computer from Japanese to English without reinstalling a new OS?

I got a computer from Korea and everything is in Korean so I need to change it to english. Hello there I have a Toshiba Satellite laptop running on a upgrade from windows XP to Windows Vista Premminum. I have been running this version for some time now and nothing has happend in which I can not fix myself.. I have recently come accross a problume that brings me up to Windows Boot Manager. I will read exactly what it says and how it says it.

Windows faild to start. A recent hardware of software change might be the cause. To fix the problume:
1. Insert your windows installation disk and restart your computer.
2. Choose your language settings, and then click %26quot;next%26quot;
3. Click %26quot;Repair your computer.%26quot;
If you do not have this disk, Contact your system administrator or computer manufacturer for assistance.

Info: Windows failed to load because a critical system driver is missing or corrupt.
Thats when it ends. Now I know it tells me how to fix it but I have a problume.. When it tells me a critical system driver is missing or corrupt... dosn't that mean its hardware failure or something like that and even if I put the disk in if im having hardware failure it wont work...
Also im concerned with what might have caused this problume. I know before the crash. I had gone onto Trend Micro 2008 anti viruse and it said a few things about windows changes and said that they were high so I changed them back. So im thinking when I changed them thats what happend... I know I might not be making a whole lot of sence but yeah im kinda confussed I have never seen this before....
So guys if you can help me out I will offer alot of points for it and if it is possable to instant message me at Musiclvrkd

First of all if that is the case you are going to want to boot from your windows vista cd and delete all the partisions on your computer. then reboot and load from the cd and install vista again. the best way to fix it is to repair just the windows files. to do this you just need a windows cd and when it asks you if you want to install windows just hit enter and later it will ask you if you want to repair it or want to delete everything and install windows. select repair and it will start reinstalling windows and not touch the files you put on there. the only thing to remember is it will ask you if you want to repair windows twice, ignore the first time and choose to install the second time and just follow the steps from there.

I live in Mexico, but my computer is from Canada. Windows used to be in English, but we had a guy come do some work on our internet connection and he was using the computer and changed everything to Spanish. See if you can download the language packs from Microsoft and reinstall them. It may fix the issue of changing the language back to English, because you may be right about everything not being installed. I would ask did you click OK or apply? They do different things. I live in Japan and bought a notebook with Windows Vista Home premium Japanese. I later upgraded it to wv ultimate just to be able to change the language to english. However, although the os I am using is in English now, whenever I install a program or software supporting multilanguage, it picks Japanese and the program installs its Japanese version through a Japanese install wizard. I am really tired of it and tried to change some language settings from control panel and it didnt work. Hi! I downloaded (as in I don't have an original CD that I can re run on my PC) Windows Movie Maker for Windows XP and the version is in French. I don't know how to change this, or where to download an English version of this program. Well, you might need a translator... if you have vista(any version or windows 7 (any version) then you can change the regional language, by first clicking on what would be start. Then click on the third Icon from the bottom above the power shut down button. One of the kids has changed the language settings to arabic and changed it back to english but there's still some programs in arabic. I installed a printer and the installation came up in arabic. I have vista but I still believe that you will find your printer program in your control panel. You'll have to manually change it as the kid did. You may also be able to create a restore point which will default the entire computer back to a certain date but you would have to know what date it was done and risk losing all info that occurred/stored after that point. (last resort)

Hi, John P is correct. The verysion of Windows XP is localized Russian. You can however switch the input locale (and type Spanish, etc.) but the interface itself will always be in Russian.
To change input local control panel, regional options, input locales, add new input local.

Hi, John P is correct. The verysion of Windows XP is localized Russian. You can however switch the input locale (and type Spanish, etc.) but the interface itself will always be in Russian.
To change input local control panel, regional options, input locales, add new input local.

And worse for you, it was sold in language specific editions, without a simple way of changing languages, because it lacks the Unicode support introduced in Windows 2000 and later, Windows XP. Microsoft did produce some Global Input Method Editor packs which allowed English users to write and edit documents in Japanese, Chinese and Korean, but the process is one way. The third link below has some directions for setting up language support on Windows ME and other operating systems, but again, this is taking the assumption that you have an English version of ME, and are trying to create docs in other languages. It doesn't change the language of menus or interface elements to the target language, and anyway, it's not what you want. I include it only since you may be unsatisfied with this answer, and hear about it elsewhere, and then waste a lot of time trying to get it to work.

use the run command by ethier hitting
